Despite recent assertions in the media, FuelWatch data gives no indications that supermarkets are “loading” their fuel prices to recover the costs of the shopper docket schemes.
It is up to each individual retailer to decide whether or not to charge customers a fee for paying for goods or services with credit cards. There should be a clear sign on the bowser explaining the surcharge applying to credit card users.
It is not illegal for a fuel prices to be given over the phone, however it may be against their company policy.
FuelWatch lists service stations that, we been have told, provide driveway service. The retailers have given us this information voluntarily so it is just a guide only. Please contact the station to check if the service is still available.
