1) Do service stations charge more to make up for shopper docket discounts?

Despite recent assertions in the media, FuelWatch data gives no indications that supermarkets are “loading” their fuel prices to recover the costs of the shopper docket schemes.

2) Is my retailer allowed to charge extra for using credit cards?

It is up to each individual retailer to decide whether or not to charge customers a fee for paying for goods or services with credit cards. There should be a clear sign on the bowser explaining the surcharge applying to credit card users.

3) Is it illegal for a service station to give out their price over the phone?

It is not illegal for a fuel prices to be given over the phone, however it may be against their company policy.

4) Which service stations offer driveway service?

FuelWatch lists service stations that, we been have told, provide driveway service. The retailers have given us this information voluntarily so it is just a guide only.  Please contact the station to check if the service is still available.

5) What time do retailers change their prices?

Retailers in the FuelWatch boundaries must maintain their notified prices for 24 hours from 6am each day.  Click here for more information about the 24 hour rule.
