Every night after dinner, Greenwood resident and businesswoman Maria Dobrowolski will check her free personalised FuelWatch email to spot the best fuel purchases in her area. If her FuelWatch email alerts her to a significant increase in tomorrow's fuel prices, Ms Dobrowolski will immediately hop in her car to fill up at the petrol station offering the best fuel buy locally.

"Even if my petrol tank is half full I will still top up with fuel at the bottom of the price cycle,rather than be forced to buy when prices are high" Ms Dobrowolski said. "My entire family get excited about buying fuel for $1.09 one day and seeing it priced 20 cents more the next. "When we purchase fuel at the low end of the price cycle we feel like we have had a win. Since buying his first home, Thornlie resident Scott Rendell has become passionate about fuel prices. Mr Rendell believes he has saved hundreds of dollars each year he has been accessing fuel price information on the FuelWatch website and receiving his free email subscription bi-weekly.

Bertram resident and keen FuelWatch advocate Darren Blackley drives up to 1000 kilometres a week between work, home, martial art training and dropping his daughter off at school. He can use the 'Trip Planner', to access the cheapest price along his route.

"Without FuelWatch I would be paying hundreds more for fuel", Mr Blackley said. Mr Blackley, a website expert, is so happy with FuelWatch he has included it as a link on the Bertram Progress Association website he created.

Every day, Kingsley resident Gaye Smith will check her personalised and free FuelWatch email to locate the best fuel purchases in her area. "I am a widow and every cent counts", Ms Smith said. "Savings such as 10 cents a litre adds up. I would have saved hundreds of dollars using FuelWatch's services.

American traveler and Como resident Jessica Kocaj is delighted by the money FuelWatch is saving her. "Americans also struggle with fuel price fluctuations but there is nothing like FuelWatch in my home country", she said.

Ms Kocaj, who drives a 'roomy' Ford Fairmont and plans to travel around WA, claims the Department of Commerce's fuel monitoring service will save her a couple of hundred dollars by the end of the year. "I now get an email delivered directly to me, detailing the cheapest petrol stations on my daily travel route, and alerting me as to the best time to buy", she said. "It's fantastic to be given the opportunity to fill up when the petrol is cheap."
